In 2014 I had a dream. A wise crone came to me. She was wearing a long gownd and had long flowing silver hair. She told me that working with violet ray machines would be a good path to follow. After waking the next morning, I decided right then to listen to the advice the crone gave me and began working with vintage high frequency medical devices from violet ray machines to the Lakhovsky Multiple Wave Oscillator

My name is Steffan and welcome to my web page. My interest in Tesla began when I was 13. My stepfather would occasionally demonstrate his coveted Tesla coil and the magic of high voltage, high frequency electricity. He would string four or five of us together hand in hand. Then he gave the person at one end of the string a fluorescent light bulb to hold, while the person at the other end was connected to the Tesla coil. When he turned the device on, the fluorescent tube would miraculously illuminate. That was the coolest thing I had ever seen.

But then I grew up and didn't rediscover Tesla until I was in my late thirties. A that time in the mid 90's the Internet was still in it's infancy and there was very little information about Nikola Tesla and how to construct his famed high voltage, high frequency generator (Tesla coil). Then in 2013, my intense desire to build one of these machines was rekindled. By then the Internet had evolved exponentially and there was a wealth of information on Nikola Tesla and Tesla coil construction. The greatest challenge now, was to sort through the mass of digital material that was available online and pick out the information that was most useful. As part of my Tesla coil research I stumbled onto Stefan Kluge's Tesla page. Kluge, a resident of Germany, is very much into Tesla technology. Not surprisingly he's also is into violet ray machines and has a number of photographs on his web site of machines he has collected over the years. Upon viewing these images, I immediately realized that my stepdad's treasured Tesla coil, was indeed a Tesla coil, but more accurately a violet ray machine.

The very first violet ray machine I received was gifted to me by my stepdad shortly before he passed away in 2014. That was before I knew that they were called violet ray machines. It was a mid 1920's RenuLife Model R and included nearly all of the attachments including the ozone inhalation mask. Rated at 50W, the Model R was the company's most powerful high frequency generator and was marketed mainly to doctors. The photos at the bottom of the page shows the machine prior to it's restoration. The image contains both the topside of the control board and also the flip side with all the components mounted to it. This machine has two Tesla coils, one is inside the wand for the violet ray and the other is mounted to the top of the electrostatic ozone generator which it powers. The two coils are identical. Receiving my step dad's violet ray machine opened up a whole new angle to explore, which was using Tesla technology for health and wellbeing! Within a short period of time I began to purchase, restore and sell both European and USA made machines.


Over time, my violet ray refurbishing process evolved from simply replacing the high voltage capacitor, internal wiring and cables, to also adding an EMI filter to the circuit to minimize high frequency, high voltage from leaking back into the house electrical. High frequency currents (RF) can damage sensitive electronic devices in your home and interfere with Internet equipment. These days my machine upgrades also include cosmetic upgrades, an illuminated power switch, a fuse and a high quality wire-wound rheostat for greatly improved output level control.

In closing, I just want to say that I love working with violet ray machines so much, that I finally decided to put together this web site called Steffan's Violet Ray & Violet Wand Shop, so that I might offer violet ray repair services, refurbished machines and violet ray accessories to the world.
